Client: Trella

Trella (formerly Mather Architecture) is a multi-award-winning architecture and interior design studio. It creates buildings and spaces that are human in experience, beautiful in design, and lasting in impact.

Trella designs compelling environments by combining integrated expertise in architecture and interior design with curiosity, ingenuity, and dexterity. Their services include private homes, multi-residential projects, missing-middle housing, workplace, community, heritage & adaptive reuse, mixed-use development, retail, hospitality, civic & public spaces, recreation, and wellness.

Trella’s philosophy centers on the belief that every decision, from concept to completion, must serve purpose, place, and people. The team of architects and interior designers listens deeply, collaborates openly, and designs with care to deliver places of enduring value.

With a history spanning over 13 years under the name Mather Architecture, Trella has built a reputation for reliability and quality. The name “Trella” (from “trellis”) symbolizes how the practice works: building strong foundations that support growth, beauty, and transformation through space.

Trella is based in Canberra (ACT), and its leaders include Jeremy Mather and Nikki Butlin. They continue to push the boundaries of sustainable and meaningful design, envisioning how people will live, work, and connect both now and in the future.
