In 2019, after years of severe drought, Australia endured an unprecedented bushfire crisis.
The fires spanned almost the entire length of the country… and the full force of its destruction hit one small village on the New South Wales South Coast.
The village became a national symbol of resilience and the unbreakable Australian spirit.
Told by the people there, this story is not about tragedy; it’s about community.
This is the story of Cobargo.
Director Statement
This project represents my small, in-house team embarking on our first feature documentary after forging my studio and way with a career in corporate and commercial production in Canberra, Australia. Our homegrown, extensive experience in the industry has equipped us with the skills and insights necessary to tackle this new and exciting challenge. This project was created with support from the Cobargo Bushfire Resilient Centre.
